(These ENT surgery charges relate to deluxe room occupancy for the mentioned hospital stay)

Tympanoplasty is surgery for the reconstruction of the middle ear, to correct deafness and stop discharge. Its approximate treatment charges inclusive of a hospital stay of one week are rupees 16,000.

Stapedectomy is surgery to correct conductive deafness due to otosclorosis. Its approximate treatment charges inclusive of a three day hospital stay are rupees 24,500.

Rhinoplasty is cosmetic nose surgery. Its approximate treatment charges inclusive of a four day hospital stay are rupees 27,000. However, patients need to have the nose plaster removed after a fortnight, for which they may need to revisit the hospital, if they cannot have this done locally.

Surgery for thyroid and parotid swellings calls for treatment charges of approximately rupees 30,000 inclusive of a hospital stay of one week.

GENERAL SURGERY

(These general surgery charges relate to deluxe room occupancy, and pertain to the longest hospital stay indicated)

Abcess (cyst/lump/swelling) will require a two day hospital stay for which the approximate treatment charges are rupees 5,000

Phimosis will require a four day hospital stay for which the approximate treatment charges are rupees 9,000

Inguinal hernia will require a seven to ten day hospital stay for which the approximate treatment charges are rupees 12,500

Ingrown toenail will require one day hospital stay for which the approximate treatment charges are rupees 4,000

Fissure will require two to four day hospital stay for which the approximate treatment charges are rupees 9,000

Fistula will require two to seven day hospital stay for which the approximate treatment charges are rupees 11,000

GYNAECOLOGY

Abdominal hysterectomy charges rupees 18,500 inclusive of eight day stay (Indication: fibroid ovarian cysts with fibroid, adenomyosis, unhealthy cervix, carcinoma uterus and cervix)

Vaginal hysterectomy charges rupees 18,500 inclusive of eight day stay (Indication: prolapse uterus)

Cystocoel & recto coel repair charges rupees 18,500 inclusive of eight day stay (Indication: prolapse of bladder and rectum)

Myomectomy charges rupees 20,000 inclusive of eight day stay (Indication: fibroid in uterus especially in young patients in whom facility has to be preserved)

Ovarian cystectomy charges rupees 18,500 inclusive of eight day stay (Indication: ovarian cysts, cancer ovaries)

Caesarian section charges rupees 18,000 inclusive of eight day stay

OPHTHALMOLOGY

(All these ophthalmology surgery charges relate to single non-deluxe room occupancy)

Phaco cataract surgery with foldable IOL (intra-ocular lens) using imported lenses of international quality standards, such as Acrysof by Alcon, Tecnis by AMO, and Dura lens by AMO (non-foldable). The approximate treatment charges which includes a hospital stay (single room) of four days is rupees 15,000.

Small incision cataract surgery (SICS) with IOL implant. Again, patients can choose from the same range of high quality imported lenses. The approximate treatment charges which includes a hospital stay of four days is rupees 13,000.

Phaco and trabeculectomy (which is glaucoma surgery) with IOL implant. The approximate treatment charges which includes a hospital stay of four days is rupees 16,000.

Glaucoma surgery - also called trabeculectomy - charges are approximately rupees 8,500 which includes a hospital stay of ten days, as regular post-operative checks are mandatory. If required, patients can also undergo Laser Iridotomy during their stay (extra charges).

Paediatric squint surgery charges are approximately rupees 8,000 which includes a hospital stay of five days.

Paediatric ptosis surgery charges are approximately rupees 6,000 which includes a hospital stay of five days.

ORTHOPAEDICS

Knee / hip joint replacement surgery

Our hospital package charge for unilateral (single) joint replacement surgery is rupees 31,000 for twin-sharing occupancy, rupees 34,000 for single occupancy and rupees 37,000 for a deluxe room.

Our hospital package charge for bilateral (two) joint replacement surgeries is rupees 48,000 for twin-sharing occupancy, rupees 51,000 for single occupancy and rupees 54,000 for a deluxe room.

These charges relate to a hospital stay of 15 days.

In addition to both the above, the cost of medicines is approximately rupees 22,000. Plus, the cost of an imported implant varies anywhere from rupees 80,000 to 126,000 for a standard knee joint and from rupees 77,000 to 180,000 for a standard hip joint. The patient can choose from a range of imported implants such as Depuy, Zimmer, Smith and Nephew, Mathys and Stryker, after discussing his/her individual case with our orthopaedic surgeon. Less expensive Indian implants are also an option, though not favoured by our surgeons.
